We received notice of the following STOP SALE and wanted to immediately notify you: The Maryland Department of Agriculture has issued a stop sale on one specific lot of Stella & Chewy's Freeze Dried Chicken Patties (Chewie's Chicken Dinner Patties on the bag) after a positive test by the FDA for listeria monocytogenes. The lot number on the bag is 111-15 with a best by date of 4/23/16. While Stella & Chewy's has not yet issued an official recall for this product, we suspect that the company may take this action in the near future. Montclair Feed DOES NOT HAVE this product, but we are issuing this notice in an abundance of caution. If you or anyone you know has purchased this product, please check the lot and date codes and return the product to the place of purchase immediately. Listeria is not only dangerous to dogs, it can also be deadly to small children, the elderly and those with auto immune disorders. Consumers who have unopened bags of this dog food are urged to keep it sealed & away from people.

Help the Animal Victims of Nepal's Earthquake In the wake of Nepal's devastating earthquake, which killed more than 5,000 people, charities across the world are coming together to help the thousands who have been injured, displaced, or left with no food or water. At the same time, animal welfare groups are coming together to offer support, veterinary care, and shelter to animals in desperate need. Both pets and farm animals are in need of assistance. Here's how you can help Humane Society International's Animal Rescue Team in Kathmandu has been providing emergency aid, veterinary care, and surgical equipment following the earthquake. Click here to make a one-time donation or a monthly donation and see how your funds will be used. Animal Nepal is an innovative NGO based in Lalitpur District, Kathmandu Valley and run by volunteers. They are in dire need of donations to help stray cats, dogs, and farm animals that have been left in the wreckage of the Nepal earthquake. You can follow the progress of the animals they are finding and treating on their Facebook page and make a donation to the organization on their website. Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre (KAT) provides shelter, food, and care to the city's over 22,000 street dogs.
